As you all know I’m a HUGE FAN of Marcel Duchamp, so for my video workshop I decided to re create my own version of the famous ‘Anemic Cinema’ Of course Duchamp’s piece is not even worth being mentioned with my video, but I decided to have fun, only had an afternoon to complete this so yeah đ This is the drawing I scanned, edited…. and VERY BASICALLY animated đ

Coffin
So I went into the studios today to hand in a staple gun, had a convo with Ryan who then pointed me to the direction of an artist call to decorate a coffin with the theme of angels. Which makes sense, as one of the reasons I’m painting circles is the fact that I read the passage in Ezekiel (10), which includes a detailed description of  winged creatures accompanied  by spinning wheels with many eyes. Yeah I’m that artist now, casually painting coffins…. đ
More Circles!
Let There Be Light!
So I’ve finished my 1st semester yet for some reason I can’t help but make stuff. I recently had a bookmaking workshop; Our tutor had lots of paper left from our practice and was about to expose of it. You know me; I had to have it, so I spent the majority of my lunch and studio time cutting up bits of paper. In a nutshell, I tried to make another vase, it looked okay but I didn’t like the finished product. Perfectionist me tried my hardest to reshape the vase…. and it broke -_-
But I looked at the pattern on the inside and wondered what it would be like illuminated. I have a desk lamp. AND NOW I’M GOING TO MAKE A WHOLE RANGE OF LIGHTS! O_O”
1st Semester Assessment
So I had to showcase some of my work for my end of semester assessment and I’m on this postmodern vibe so I thought why not just show that. This is my….. Lord knows what it is. It’s been called an installation so I’ll go with that đ Sorry for the crappy image quality I left my camera at home -_- so I’m relying on my omnia 7.
What is this?
So Tom (art buddy) decided to bring this spool from the skips and just left it; it has been in the studio for ages. My first semester project is coming to an end so I’m producing work for assessment, it’s round so – as I have an obsession with circles – I decided to paint it. It’s been called many things of course the obvious being a table but I cannot come to the conclusion as to what it is. And this is the art studio on a clean day!
Origami Fail
So a while ago I was really into origami and started making complex structures. I felt lazy so I had lots of flyers from my freshers fair, didn’t want throw them away so I made an acorn. So on the day of presentation it fell apart, but I really liked the circular pattern in the middle of the structure. I do plan to make a vase though so i’ll have to research (youtube lol) how to start my base, as I feel that’s what let me down.
Orphism Disaster
Alex (another great art buddy of mine) and I paid a visit to Orinoco (a local scrap-store) and got lots of free paint. I opened up our choices and these five colours looked good so I started painting an off cut I got from our sculpture workshop. I’m not a fan of this painting so I plan to do something with this.
Cubes
Had another workshop and the craftsman in me couldn’t resist making more of these boxes. Just needed some kind of design, luckily I’m writing an essay on Robert Delaunay. Particularly his work from 1920 onward, I’m a big fan of Orphism so the pattern just came naturally. And I swear circles are taking over my art.
